Two 19-year-old men were stabbed in Simi Valley early Sunday by a group of apparent gang members demanding to know what gang they belonged to, police said.
The teenagers were approached by two groups after arriving at a home on Patricia Avenue about 12:45 a.m. When they insisted they did not belong to any gang, they were stabbed with a knife, police said.
The suspects fled in two cars, and the victims were taken to Simi Valley Hospital. One of the teenagers was severely wounded in the abdomen. The other was only slightly injured and was released. Police did not release their names on Sunday.
The Simi Valley Police Department interviewed the victims and was following several leads Sunday but had not made any arrests.
