Taitron Cites Soft Demand for 1st-Quarter Sales Drop

Taitron Components Inc. posted flat earnings on a 3% decline in sales in its first quarter, citing soft market demand for discrete semiconductors.
The Santa Clarita-based concern posted net income of $760,000 in the period that ended March 31, compared with a $756,000 profit in the same period a year earlier. Sales for the latest quarter fell to $8.07 million, down from $8.31 million a year ago.
Taitron sells transistors, diodes and other discrete semiconductors to various equipment manufacturers in North America.
