Xylan Agrees to Settle Patent Infringement Suit

Xylan Corp., a Calabasas maker of computer switching products, said it has agreed to settle a patent infringement lawsuit filed against it a year ago by a New Jersey firm.

Under the terms of the proposed settlement, Xylan will have an unrestricted license to use certain Ascom Timeplex networking technology and will pay no royalties.

Ascom will have access to some of Xylan’s switching technology.
