For the first time in 25 years, TransWorld Bank, a state-chartered bank with 12 offices in Los Angeles and Ventura counties, has a new president.
Craig D. Collette, former chief executive officer and director of Landmark Bank and Landmark Bancorp in La Habra, has assumed the role of president and chief operating officer of the Sherman Oaks-based TransWorld Bank.
He succeeds David H. Hender, who will remain on as vice chairman and chief executive officer until his retirement in 1997.
Collette opened Landmark Bank in 1979 and oversaw its expansion into a six-branch system with assets of $250 million. Landmark Bank recently was acquired by California State Bank.
In 1992, Collette was awarded the prestigious SBA Small Business Advocate of the Year award. In 1994, he was nationally recognized as CEO of the Year by Financial World magazine.
Collette sits on the boards of the National Independent Bankers Assn., the California Independent Bankers Assn. and the Local Development Corp.
TransWorld Bank is a wholly owned subsidiary of TransWorld Bancorp.
