The famed movie cowboy, who died in 1946, used a chunk of the fortune he made from “Tumbleweeds” and other silent “oaters” to build a Spanish-style mansion in Newhall. The 259-acre ranch--where the buffalo still roam--contains other historical structures, picnic areas, hiking trails and a backyard petting zoo.
