A Walkover by Millikan Puts Saugus in Semifinal

Amanda Melton drew a bases-loaded walk in the top of the 11th inning Thursday to give Saugus High a 1-0 victory over Millikan in a Division II quarterfinal game at Millikan.
Third-seeded Saugus (25-4) plays second-seeded La Mirada in a semifinal Tuesday at a site to be determined.
The Centurions loaded the bases in the 11th when Lauren Blaire hit a pinch single and Liz Gray and Nicole Giordano beat out bunts. Tracy Passafiume re-entered the game as a runner for Blaire and scored the winning run.
Jamie Gillies (22-3) pitched a five-hitter for Saugus, striking out three and walking two.
Anaheim Canyon 1, Newbury Park 0--Kristi Fox (17-4) allowed one hit to the final 20 batters and finished with a four-hitter, but the Comanches (22-10) scored on three hits in the first inning to upset the Panthers (23-6-1) in a Division I quarterfinal at Canyon.
Newbury Park batters were hitless in eight at-bats with runners in scoring position.
Moorpark 8, Kern Valley 3--Tina Milburn, Natalie Ranft and T.C. Plante each had two hits for the Musketeers (18-8) in a Division V quarterfinal at Moorpark.
Erin Heinbechner (16-4) struck out 10, walked one and scattered eight hits for the Musketeers, who play Riverside Notre Dame on Tuesday in the semifinals.
Crossroads 2, Calabasas 0--Coyote left fielder Katie Young overran a single in the top of the seventh inning, allowing two runs to score for the Titans (19-9) in a Division V quarterfinal game at Calabasas.
Kelli Sargent (13-3) allowed five hits and no earned runs while striking out two and walking two for the Coyotes (16-6-1).
Riverside Notre Dame 8, Oak Park 0--Kaylene Boldroff (11-8) surrendered eight hits and five earned runs while striking out three and walking three in a Division V quarterfinal game at Oak Park (16-12).
Cornerstone Christian 12, Providence 0--Jen Feistel (15-1) struck out nine, walked three and did not allow a hit in five innings before being relieved by Heather Breshears in a Division VI quarterfinal game at Cornerstone Christian.
Feistel had a pair of run-scoring doubles for the Eagles (19-2), who play Linfield on Tuesday in the semifinals.
