Niemeier Rallies as Mates Slump
While most of the JetHawks were in a slump over the past three weeks, Todd Niemeier was pulling out of his.
Niemeier, a 23-year-old left-hander in his first full pro season, began the year allowing eight earned runs in his first 8 1/3 innings spanning 11 games. Since then, Niemeier has not allowed a run in 7 2/3 innings over six games.
“I’m still walking too many, but I’m more comfortable now,” Niemeier said. “I’m more confident, and confidence is a big thing at any level.”
