Host Families Sought for Foreign Youths
Ventura County families are needed to host English-speaking high school students from foreign nations for the fall semester or full academic year.
Students are coming to the region from such nations as Russia, Japan, Brazil, Paraguay, Indonesia and many other countries.
The students are between 15 and 18 years old, have their own spending money and carry accident and health insurance, said Bill Frantz, area representative of Open Door Student Exchange.
Host families, which may include childless couples, retirees or single parents, may review student applications to choose a suitable match.
