New Arts Committee Will Study Funding

Residents are being sought to serve on a new committee that will study funding for city-sponsored arts programs.
The committee, recently established by the City Council, will work with city staff to examine how other communities support arts programs.
A number of communities earmark funds to guarantee a certain level of support for arts programs, according to city staff. Huntington Beach helps to support its downtown Art Center.
Cultural Services Manager Michael Mudd said the committee will report its findings to the council in early October.
Residents interested in serving may call the Cultural Services Division at (714) 536-5258.
