ST. LOUIS — Emmett C. Nave was executed by injection early Wednesday at Potosi Correctional Center for shooting his landlady to death less than a year after he was paroled from prison on rape and armed robbery charges.
Nave, 55, had earlier confronted the landlady, Geneva Roling, about parking problems, lack of heat in his apartment and problems with his mail delivery before shooting her 10 times at her Jefferson City apartment in 1983, prosecutors said. After the killing, Nave took four women hostage and sexually assaulted them before three escaped and notified a state trooper.
