GOP on Economy

* I just loved Speaker Newt Gingrich’s incomplete statement about economic growth (“GOP Leaders Press Dole on Tax Cuts,” July 24): “When the economy grows faster there are more jobs. When the economy grows faster there is more income.”
Obviously, Newt the history major did not minor in economics, because when the economy grows faster, inflation occurs. What is it with all these anti-inflation, conservative Republicans who think that a much higher GDP with low inflation is remotely possible?
