Mixing Politics With Religion

Greg Laurie, evangelist, author and political lobbyist (“Harvest Crusade to Feature Elizabeth Dole,” July 3)?
The people gather at Anaheim Stadium to hear the gospel, but is there a hidden agenda?
Laurie announces that Elizabeth Dole will speak Friday night. Why this mix of politics and religion?
We know that Laurie has a religious message for us, that he wants to guide us toward Christ. Does he also have a political message for us, to possibly guide us toward the Republican candidate for president?
I personally am offended and find it rather disgusting that Laurie feels the need to guide, persuade or imply who we should vote for.
I for one can make up my own mind. I do not go to a religious gathering to be manipulated politically. But if he is a political lobbyist, then I guess he’s just doing his job.
