Hoping to meet a resident’s challenge to raise $150,000 by year’s end, the Fullerton Public Library Foundation has launched Campaign 150.
The resident gave $150,000 anonymously along with a challenge to match the gift.
The donor’s money has already been used to help purchase a parcel in north Fullerton for a new library. The matching amount raised by Campaign 150 will be used to expand the Children’s Room at the Fullerton Public Library, city officials said.
About $30,000 has been raised so far, Library Director Albert J. Milo said Thursday.
“We’re very grateful and appreciative,” Milo said of the donor, “who apparently has a strong attachment to the children and children’s services.”
For information about joining Campaign 150, call (714) 738-3366 or write to the foundation in care of the Fullerton Main Library, 353 W. Commonwealth Ave., Fullerton, CA 92832.
