CBT Group Names Apple Veteran as President: The Dublin, Ireland-based software company said it has appointed James J. Buckley president and chief operating officer, effective Sept. 3. Buckley was most recently president of Apple Americas and a senior vice president of Apple Computer Inc., where he was responsible for all aspects of Apple’s business in the United States. He resigned after Gilbert Amelio took over as chairman of the Cupertino, Calif.-based computer maker earlier this year. The CBT position is newly created; Buckley will report to CBT Chairman and Chief Executive William McCabe. CBT is a provider of interactive education software.
