Three armed men robbed a clerk at the Thousand Oaks Inn early Monday morning, making off with an undisclosed amount of cash, authorities said.
The men entered the hotel lobby about 1 a.m., and one of them asked the clerk for change, said Sgt. Rod Mendoza, of the sheriff’s major crimes division.
When the clerk opened the cash register, the man pulled out a gun and demanded the money in the drawer, Mendoza said. The men then ordered the clerk into the back office and tried unsuccessfully to break into the safe, he said.
The men then ran out of the hotel at 75 W. Thousand Oaks Blvd. No getaway car was seen, Mendoza said.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Ventura County Crime Stoppers at 494-TALK. Rewards of up to $1,000 are given for information that leads to an arrest. Tips can be left anonymously.
