91 Juveniles Arrested in Weekend Curfew Sweep by 9 Agencies

The first curfew sweep throughout the South Bay coordinated by nine law enforcement agencies this weekend resulted in the arrests of 91 juveniles picked up for being out by themselves past 10 p.m.
The operations began at 10 p.m. Friday and ended at 3 a.m. Saturday. Sgt. Lane Greenberg said Monday that most of the teenagers were picked up in Torrance, Hawthorne and Lennox, authorities said.
Dozens of officers from the Lennox sheriff’s station, Hawthorne, El Segundo, Hermosa Beach, Gardena, Torrance, Redondo Beach and El Camino College police and county parks police department patrolled their areas.
Most of the teenagers were cited and released to their parents and will have to appear in Juvenile Traffic Court, where they could be receive a minimum $120 fine and be required to perform community service work.
