Advisory Council Backs U-Turn Signs

The Oak Park Municipal Advisory Council unanimously approved installation of “No U-Turn” signs at the intersection of Lindero Canyon Road and Golden Eagle Drive.
The five-member council, whose decisions are subject to approval by the County Board of Supervisors, said during Tuesday night’s meeting the signs were needed to reduce the risk of accidents near a proposed driveway for the soon-to-be built St. Maximilian Kolbe church west of Lindero Canyon Road and north of Kanan Road.
The driveway had sparked debate among residents of the small community north of Agoura Hills during the council’s meeting July 23.
Residents in the area believed that additional traffic from the church would place drivers on Lindero Canyon Road at risk of a collision.
The council also voted 5 to 0 to postpone consideration of a proposal to reduce the 45 mph speed limit on a section of Lindero Canyon Road between Kanan Road and Golden Eagle Drive until the church driveway is in use and traffic patterns can be evaluated.
