Oilers Sign Free Agents to Contracts

The Edmonton Oilers agreed to two-year contracts with free agent left wing Dean McAmmond and defenseman Donald Dufresne. Financial terms were not disclosed. McAmmond, 23, is coming off a severed left Achilles’ tendon. Dufresne, 29, had joined the Oilers in January as part of a trade with the St. Louis Blues. . . . Joe Juneau, the Washington Capitals’ leading power-play scorer the last two seasons, will be out four to six weeks because of a fractured right wrist.
