Woods Gets Snaps With First Team

Quincy Woods, second-year freshman quarterback from Richton Park, Ill., got a promotion this week.
He’s the third-string quarterback, behind seniors Brad Otton and Matt Koffler. He had about 10 snaps in practice Wednesday with the first offense.
“They told me Sunday I’d be working with the first offense, not the scout team,” he said. “It felt great, I just hope I can help the team. I want to play so bad. . . . It’s really been two years since I’ve played.”
Woods, a 6-foot-2, option-style quarterback, passed for 2,240 yards his senior high school season and ran for more than 700.
He has played in one game, late in the 55-3 victory at Illinois early this season, when he ran the offense for one drive.
