Amanda Armstrong of Thousand Oaks is favored to win the girls’ varsity race in the Marmonte League cross-country championships today at College Park in Oxnard.
Nicholle Reinhardt of Camarillo and Jennifer Munson of Newbury Park should be Armstrong’s closest competitors in a race that is scheduled to start at 3 p.m.
Chris Ramirez of Royal, Ross Wood of Newbury Park and Charlie Coronado of Camarillo are the top runners in the boys’ race, which is set for 3:30.
Other high school events in the region today include:
Cross-country: At 2 p.m., Mission League championships at Pierce College.
Girls’ tennis: At 3 p.m., Cate at Calabasas.
Girls’ volleyball: At 3:30 p.m., Holy Martyrs at Oakwood. At 7 p.m., Windward at Providence.
Water polo: At 3:15 p.m., Thousand Oaks at Royal, Westlake at Agoura, Malibu at Calabasas, Villanova at Nordhoff.
College events in the region include:
Women’s basketball: At 6 p.m., Pt. Loma at The Master’s. At 7:05 p.m., Jiangfu Chinese Team at Cal State Northridge.
Men’s soccer: At 3 p.m., Hancock at Glendale, Mission at Moorpark, Santa Barbara at Oxnard. At 7 p.m., Loyola Marymount at Cal State Northridge.
Women’s soccer: At 1 p.m., Santa Barbara at Moorpark. At 2 p.m., San Diego at Pepperdine.
Women’s volleyball: At 7 p.m., Hancock at Moorpark.
