Man With Bandaged Fingers Holds Up S

A man with bandages on all of his fingers held up a Downey Savings & Loan on Wednesday, escaping with an undisclosed amount of cash in a white Honda with New Mexico plates, sheriff’s deputies said.
About 11 a.m., a robber wearing a blue Coors T-shirt entered the bank in the 25900 block of Muirlands Boulevard and told a teller that he had a gun and demanded cash, Sheriff’s Lt. Richard Paddock said.
“He had Band-Aids on all 10 fingers. We don’t know why,” he said.
The teller told police that although the man said he had a gun, none was seen, Paddock said. The robber fled the scene in a white car with a partial New Mexico license plate of “NYD,” he said.
Investigators described the man as white, in his 40s, about 6 feet tall with a husky build.
