WASHINGTON — It was a quiet 17th birthday Thursday for Chelsea Clinton, but a splashier celebration awaits.
President and Mrs. Clinton planned a small, private dinner Thursday evening for Chelsea and a few of her friends, said Marsha Berry, the first lady’s spokeswoman.
But on Saturday, the Clintons will take Chelsea to New York to catch a couple of Broadway shows.
There was no word on further gifts, although the president did a little birthday shopping for his daughter after a Feb. 10 speech in Annapolis, Md.
