A tractor-trailer hauling a load of sand through Moorpark overturned Tuesday morning, forcing the closure of a California 23 onramp and snarling commuter traffic for 45 minutes.
Manuel Basurito, 39, of Santa Clarita, was driving too fast on the New Los Angeles Avenue onramp at 8:15 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. The trailer portion of his truck tipped over and spilled the sand across both lanes of the southbound onramp.
a CHP spokesman said Basurito, who was not hurt, was not cited at the scene. A tow truck righted his vehicle and he drove away.
