5 Everest Climbers Reported Killed

Five climbers have died trying to conquer the world’s highest mountain in the past week, according to expedition leaders waiting for fierce winds to calm before attempting the Mt. Everest summit themselves. The victims were three members of a Kazakh military expedition, a Sherpa guide and a German climber, according to an Internet dispatch. The five deaths would raise this climbing season’s death toll to seven.
