How About Tips on Apologizing?

Well, just what we need--an article about gestures of derision (“Oh, Yeah? Well, Buzz Off!” May 12).
Wouldn’t it have been refreshing in this era so lacking in civility to open The Times to an article about ways to apologize? We all have accidentally cut someone off in traffic or done something else that we were sorry to have done. How wonderful it would be to have a gesture that could convey, “Oops, I’m so sorry.”
