Cuesta 68, Cypress 65--Cypress (9-8) squandered an 18-point halftime lead, as Cuesta (10-6) rallied to tie the score in the final minute and went on to the consolation victory.
In the semifinals of the Fullerton women’s basketball tournament:
Fullerton 82, Riverside 62--Angie Baca scored 29 points, including five three-pointers, for Fullerton (13-5). Aimee Copp added 18 points and 15 rebounds for the Hornets, who play Irvine Valley for the championship at 4 today.
Irvine Valley 67, Cypress 54--Sophomore Heather Cunningham scored 23 points for Irvine Valley (12-2), which moved to the final. Nancy Love had 20 for Cypress (12-6), which plays Riverside at 2 p.m. in the third-place game.
In the San Jose tournament:
Chaffey 88, Orange Coast 68--Chaffey jumped out to a 20-8 lead and OCC never caught up.
In the College of the Desert tournament:
Santa Ana 83, Porterville 43--Shanna Renken scored 22 and Kim Korsmeier added 18 for Santa Ana (9-2), which beat Desert, 95-56, Sunday.
