Reserves Have Done the Job

The Trojan bench has remained strong despite injuries in recent weeks. The reserves are scoring 36% of the team’s points (253 of 698). Against Ohio State, Adam Spanich, Elias Ayuso and Jeff Trepagnier combined to outscore the Trojan starting five.
Ten Trojans are averaging at least 15 minutes a game and half of those players are scoring in double figures.

Tennessee has played all but one of its nine games at home. The Volunteers defeated Memphis, 68-66, on Dec. 20 to end a road losing streak at 11 games that carried over from last season.

vs. Tennessee

Site--Sports Arena.
Radio--KEZY (95.9 FM).
Records--Trojans 4-5, Volunteers 9-0.
Update--USC’s front line should be getting some badly needed reinforcements--forwards Jarvis Turner and Anthony White are listed as probable. Both were expected to be out until January. Turner broke a bone in his left hand against Nevada Las Vegas on Dec. 2 and White broke his left foot in October. But junior guard Elias Ayuso (sprained ankle) is doubtful. Tennessee is off to its best start since 1922. The Volunteers are led by freshman guard Tony Harris (14.9 points a game) and junior guard Brandon Wharton (12). The Volunteers run a three-guard offense and, unlike the Trojans’ last two opponents, they don’t have a dominating center.
