Long Beach State 53, Florida A&M; 51--Grant Stone, a 6-foot-8 freshman, sparked the 49ers in the second half with his outside shooting and also helped contain 7-1 Rattler center Wayne Morgan before 2,346 at the Pyramid.
Stone, who finished with 13 points, scored the 49er’s first eight points after the break, including two three-point baskets.
Both teams shot 32% from the field and the Rattlers turned the ball over 17 times.
