Jerome “Jerry” Weinstein, 62, entertainment industry lawyer and name partner in the firm Weinstein & Hart. Among the firm’s clients have been the estates of the late entertainers Fred Astaire, Bruce Lee, Bud Abbott and Lou Costello. Born in Everett, Mass., and educated at Harvard University, Weinstein began his career working for MGM studios in New York. He came to California in 1970 to join the office of Beverly Hills attorney Harry B. Swardlow. An expert on privacy and publicity, Weinstein served on the board of governors of the National Assn. for Better Broadcasting and the advisory commission for the California Motion Picture Council. He was a member of the Beverly Hills Board of Education for eight years and twice served as its president. Weinstein was also a book collector and amassed a complete set of first-edition books written by Gertrude Stein. On Nov. 21 in Beverly Hills.
