U.N. Building in Baghdad Is Attacked

Assailants hurled grenades and fired bullets at a U.N. building in Baghdad, destroying one vehicle and damaging two others, officials said. One alleged attacker was wounded and taken into custody, U.N. spokesman Eric Falt said. The assault targeted the World Health Organization’s headquarters, which also houses an office for U.N. officials monitoring a program that allows Iraq to sell oil in exchange for food. No one claimed responsibility, but Iraq blamed the attack on Iran.
