“2 Teenagers Confess to Killing Boy” (Aug. 29) states that Los Angeles County has been paying $3,245 per month for each of the 68 children at Pride House. Can that figure be correct? That translates to more than $2.6 million per year paid by Los Angeles County for the training and upkeep of only 68 children.
How can the county justify spending such an exorbitant sum for this purpose and not afford to pay for free medical and dental care for the indigent of Los Angeles?
