* Re “Surrogate Ruling Leaves a Girl, 2, Legally Parentless,” Sept. 9: I have been trying (and failing) to understand the judge’s ruling. Clearly the surrogate couple were responsible for the creation of the child; they should be solely responsible for raising her.
