Officials at a Newbury Park elementary school have issued a flier warning children to beware of a man in a pickup truck seen inviting girls for a drive.
The man, described as about 35 years old and with a bad complexion, was driving an old white pickup truck, according to school officials.
Walnut Elementary School Principal Brad Baker said two teenage girls walking near his school in the 500 block of Dena Drive about 4 p.m. last week were asked by the man if they wanted to go for a drive with him.
The girls didn’t speak to him and ran away, Baker said. They contacted police and a formal report was taken.
Baker said he has not heard of any further problems.
