Chapman Easily Wins in Men’s Soccer

Seven players scored for Chapman as it defeated Concordia, 7-0, in a nonconference men’s soccer game Saturday afternoon.
The Panthers, the fourth-ranked team in Division III’s West Region, have not lost in their last four matches and improved to 5-2-1. Concordia drops to 3-5.
In other nonconference games:
Pacific Christian 1, Point Loma Nazarene 1 (2 OT)--Leo Gimenez scored to put Pacific Christian up, 1-0, at the 20-minute mark, but the lead was short-lived as Point Loma Nazarene countered with a goal five minutes later.
In Golden State Athletic Conference women’s soccer:
Azusa Pacific 2, Southern California College 0--Jessica Lubman had nine saves for SCC (7-3, 2-1).
Kendra Payne and Rachel Messick each scored a goal for Azusa Pacific.
Cal Baptist 3, Concordia 1--Rhonda Ennis scored two goals to lead Cal Baptist (1-7, 1-2).
In the Stanford Invitational women’s cross-country meet:
UC Irvine women finish 10th--Allyson Kulak finished 35th to lead the Anteaters with a time of 18 minutes 38 seconds over 5,000 meters on the Stanford Golf Course. In the men’s race, UC Irvine finished 11th, as Doug Frichtel placed 43rd to lead the Anteaters with a time of 26:11 over 8,000 meters on the Stanford Golf Course.
In Big West conference women’s volleyball:
Long Beach State 3, UC Irvine 0--Nique Crump had 10 kills to lead Long Beach State (11-1, 3-0) to a 15-5, 15-3, 15-4 conference win. Larissa Carter had nine kills for UC Irvine (4-9, 0-2).
In Golden State Athletic Conference women’s volleyball:
Southern California College 3, Concordia 2--Sally Birkhauser had 13 kills for SCC (10-5, 1-2), which defeated Concordia, 15-8, 8-15, 12-15, 15-11, 15-7.
Wendy Ames and Jamie Gast each had 16 kills for Concordia (3-12, 0-3).
In nonconference women’s volleyball:
Chapman 3, Redlands 0--Monica Girard had 12 kills to lead Chapman (7-3), which defeated Redlands, 15-5, 15-5, 15-8.
In nonconference men’s water polo:
Pepperdine 11, UC Irvine 4--Alan Hermann (Dana Hills) scored three goals as top-ranked Pepperdine defeated fourth-ranked UC Irvine.
