Dark Eyes (TMC Friday at 5:25 p.m.), Nikita Mikhalkov’s superb 1987 adaptation of “The Lady With the Dog”--previously filmed by Josef Heifitz--is a Chekhov subject done in the style of Fellini. If it seems an odd mixture, it’s odder still that it works so well.
