‘Outaction ‘98’ Set for Design Center

“Outauction ‘98,” a benefit sale of artwork for the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center, is scheduled for May 1-3 at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood.
The three-day event begins with silent bidding, noon to 6 p.m. May 1, continues the next day from noon to 8 p.m. and ends May 3 with the live auction, beginning at 3 p.m. Past auctions have sold off works by John Baldessari, David Hockney and Roy Lichtenstein.
A kickoff event for this year’s auction is Sunday at Cobalt Cantina in West Hollywood, where Ivan Beardsley will unveil his donated “Walking Venus” for the auction.
