BioComp-Sponsored Research Wins Award

BioComp Ltd., a Ventura manufacturer of dental and surgical products, was notified that the research it sponsored at the University of Iowa has won the Max L. Smith Research Award.
Dr. Sir Hao Foo, a graduate student in prosthodontics, investigated the effect of BioComp’s “fibreflex” reinforcing system on denture polymers and found that the substance significantly increases denture strength and reduces the risk of denture breakage.
The Max L. Smith award is a cash stipend awarded to the presenter of the outstanding research paper at the Iowa section of the American Assn. for Dental Research.
Foo later presented his research at the association’s annual meeting in Minneapolis.
