Senator Leading Bus Group to Sacramento
Residents interested in taking a close look at the inner workings of state government are invited to participate in Sen. Jack O’Connell’s sixth annual Capitol Seminar bus trip to Sacramento May 3 to 5.
A chartered bus will depart from O’Connell’s Ventura district office the morning of May 3. The bus then will pick up passengers in Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, San Luis Obispo (where O’Connell will join the group) and Paso Robles, which are also part of O’Connell’s 18th District.
People may also provide their own transportation and join the group in Sacramento.
On May 4 and 5, participants will hear from legislators, lobbyists and members of the media.
There will also be seminars on subjects such as how to lobby the legislature and the state budget process, as well as tours of the State Capitol and Capitol Park.
There will be a fee for traveling and meal costs, but all tours, meetings and workshops are free.
