El Dorado 8, Gloucester Catholic (N.J.) 4--Mark Wade struck out all five batters he faced to earn the save for El Dorado (11-4).

Mater Dei 12, Ridge (N.J.) 5--Tony Gatoff hit a two-run single to highlight a seven-run first for the Monarchs (13-1), who advanced to play Canyon Del Oro (Ariz.).

In the Big West tournament:

Huntington Beach 7, Lakewood 1--Nate Beucler struck out eight and did not allow an earned run for Huntington Beach (10-6) and Jeff Ruziecki hit his seventh home run to tie the school’s single-season record.

In the Pride of the Coast Tournament:

Newport Harbor 12, Costa Mesa 7 (11 innings)--Scott Beerer struck out 11 in 5 2/3 innings of relief to earn the victory for visiting Newport Harbor (5-10).

Corona del Mar 8, Estancia 2--Mark Hatfield hit a grand slam in the first inning for host Corona del Mar (6-7).

In nonleague softball:

St. Margaret’s 3, Norwalk Pioneer Baptist 0--Amber Arnold (5-1) pitched a perfect game with 19 strikeouts and her twin sister, Abbey, hit a three-run home run in the fifth for St. Margaret’s (10-1).
