The seventh annual Santa Monica Festival will be held today in Clover Park.
Bands playing everything from surf music to tango will perform on two stages throughout the day while specialists offer art and gardening workshops and lecture on the environment.
“The festival accents Santa Monica’s rich cultural heritage and its unique coastal ecology by fusing the arts and environment,” said Maria Luisa de Herrera, the city’s cultural affairs administrator.
The festival, at 2600 Ocean Park Blvd., will open with a parade at 11 a.m. and continue to dusk, rain or shine. All events are free and free parking is available, organizers said.
