Police sought the public’s help Monday in finding three suspects connected with the shooting death of a 15-year-old boy.
Deverick Garland, a resident of the Venice area, was shot in the parking lot of the Rite Aid drug store at Lincoln Boulevard and Lake Street shortly after 5:30 p.m. Friday, said Det. Dennis Moeller of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Moeller said officers found Garland inside the store suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to UCLA Medical Center, where he died soon after arrival.
The suspects were described as three boys ages 16 or 17 and wearing baggy pants and white T-shirts.
Police said Monday that they had no reason to suspect the killing was gang-related. Anyone with information is urged to call Moeller or Det. Ronald Cade at (310) 202-4506.
