Chris Willmer
Mission Viejo, Senior; Baseball/Shortstop
Mission Viejo enters this week 3-4 and in fourth place in the South Coast League. But the Diablos (11-6 overall) showed the league’s strength and depth, winning the Chino tournament last week. Willmer went four for seven for the week and had a home run and three runs batted in during an 11-6 victory over Westminster in the final.
John Dorenbos/Baseball/Infield
* Pacifica, junior. Hit two home runs to help Pacifica defeat Villa Park, 6-3, in the Santa Ana Elks tournament’s championship game.
Mark Gleason/Track and Field
* Mission Viejo, senior. Finished his 1,600 leg in 4 minutes 12.3 seconds to help the Diablos post the fastest distance medley time in the nation (10:13.52 seconds) at the Mt. San Antonio College Relays.
Ray Vincent/Diving
* El Toro, sophomore. Won the boys’ title at the Mission Viejo Diving Invitational last weekend with 527.35 points.
