Shuttle Service Will Continue for Year
The Van Go Smart Shuttle will continue serving the community for at least one more year, thanks to a $70,000 grant from the Orange County Council of Governments.
The citywide shuttle service has become increasingly popular, officials said, from 353 riders in November 1997, to 460 in February.
The new agreement, approved recently by the City Council, expands the shuttle’s hours to 10 hours a day Monday through Friday, beginning at 6:30 a.m.
While the service was aimed at seniors and youth, the city will begin marketing the shuttle to commuters.
