DANA POINT
The Dana Point Harbor Assn. will kick off whale-watching season today with its first cruise. Every year, California gray whales migrate south from Alaska to Baja, California, to breed.
The whales--almost wiped out by whaling but recovering slowly--are known to stop and frolic halfway through their journey at the Dana Point Headlands. The association’s cruises end April 4. Information: (949) 496-1094.
