Nationally known folk musicians Bill and Bonnie Hearne will perform a benefit concert in January to raise funds for the children’s department of the Thousand Oaks Library.
The Hearnes have been featured on CNN’s “Showbiz Today” and National Public Radio’s “All Things Considered” and have been cited as an influence by several musicians, said Steve Brogden, deputy library director.
“Bill and Bonnie Hearne play the best darn folk music I ever heard. They are the truest form of musical heroes,” said Nanci Griffith, a Grammy-winning musician.
The concert will be at 8 p.m. Jan. 19 in the Forum Theater at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. Tickets are $20 each and may be purchased through the box office or Ticketmaster.
To reach the box office, call 449-2787, or call Carol Wisniewski at the Friends of the Thousand Oaks Library at 494-7753.
