Zodiac Adds Leadership

Former UC Irvine soccer standout Erik Kirsch was named co-coach of the Zodiac, the team announced Monday.
Kirsch, who also will remain a player, will share coaching responsibilities with Ricardo Minaya, who is the organization’s director of soccer operations.
Kirsch played four years (1993-1997) in the German League and was the Zodiac’s top assistant coach last season.

Ron Cheser, girls’ volleyball coach at Mater Dei, has resigned to spend more time with his family, Athletic Director Geri Campeau said.
The Monarchs reached the Division II-AA quarterfinals this season after reaching the I-A finals last year under Cheser.
