The City Council on Monday unanimously elected Tim Keenan as mayor. Councilwoman Anna Piercy will take Keenan’s place as mayor pro tem. Keenan, a small-business owner, has served on the council since 1996. Newly elected council members Frank S. McCoy, Mike McGill and Lydia Sondhi were also sworn in Monday.

Cypress mayor--An article Dec. 16 incorrectly stated the Cypress City Council’s vote for mayor. Tim Keenan was elected by a 3-2 vote.
