I have a simple solution to the problem of saving Social Security. Take all the money that is used to fund those generous congressional pensions and put it into the Social Security pot. Let the congressional pensions come out of this same pot. Then, if Social Security ever runs out of money, congressional pensions will go belly up as well. I’m sure the Congress would then make damn sure that Social Security remains solvent.
