The City Council on Tuesday will decide whether to approve expenses to begin studying how to improve the William Peak Pool, the city’s largest, by the summer of 2000.
Staff members have suggested hiring Torrance-based Jones & Madhavan Architecture Engineering for $45,000 to develop construction plans and needed studies. The council already has approved $500,000 to make the improvements: new heating, chlorination, circulation and filtration systems; better pool and deck surfaces; and updated locker rooms to comply with the Americans With Disabilities Act.
