Capistrano Valley 1, Chaminade 0--An impressive run came to a disappointing end for the Eagles (11-2-1), who lost the Excalibur tournament final at Foothill High in Santa Ana.
Capistrano Valley (8-0-1) had too much speed for Chaminade, two-time defending Division III champion, and wore down the Eagles with long runs along both sidelines.
Megan Abbamonto scored on a 15-yard, cross-goal shot in the 57th minute.
Chaminade had not advanced past the tournament quarterfinals in six previous appearances.
